NR24 2RL ![]() Why Not Explore Norfolk And All It OffersWith its meandering lanes and charming villages, a drive through Norfolk on a summer's evening can be a most enjoyable experience. The county is littered with pleasant villages that are linked by a network of winding, narrow lanes that you can explore either by car or if you are feeling energetic on a hired bicycle. If you are staying at one of the North Norfolk hotels, don't be afraid to ask for suggestions on where to go and what to see and you'll probably also get a couple of ideas as to which of the local Norfolk Pubs to call off for a drink as you go. There may even be occasions when you feel lost or uncertain of whether to go left or right at an isolated crossroads but don't worry as it won't be long before you are back on a larger road or roll into a village and the signs will soon point you back in the right direction. This rural landscape is one of the natural attractions of Norfolk: rolling fields, often with large bales of straw just after harvest time, against a backdrop of big open skies. The landscape gently undulates and if you look in any direction you are sure to see the tower of a Norfolk church peeping through the trees or signalling that a small village is just around the next turn. If you are looking to dine at any number of Norfolk Restaurants, a pleasant drive before dinner is a perfect appetiser. There are some lovely Norfolk Boutique Hotels in the north of the county which offer accommodation that is both stylish and luxurious. Some are in, or close to, the small market towns that are a feature of North Norfolk. While the road network is rural, you are rarely more than a few miles away from a good pub, restaurant or hotel in North Norfolk and the coastline is within easy reach as well. With the sun shining on a long, warm summer evening, it is such a good time to go out to explore rural Norfolk and see the county at its very best.
