Reopening Policy



After booking your stay, you will receive an email from The Pigs that includes details regarding our socially distanced check-in service and a video explaining the check in for each room type. We will also give you a courtesy call the day before your arrival to confirm your booking and confirm your card details for taking payment following your stay.


When you arrive for check-in you will be greeted by the bar staff, who will check with the reception team that the area is clear of other guests and that your room is ready (if it is not, a queueing system will take place around the bar and you can order drinks that will be added to your room tab). Once ready, you will be shown to reception to collect your room key and receive information about your room. We will have as many doors open as possible, so you avoid touching unnecessary surfaces.

During your stay

You can opt in or out to have your room serviced if you’re staying with us for more than one night, and after a service, there will be a note confirming who cleaned the room and the precautions taken.

Our bar and restaurant areas will only be open to guests for the time being and you will have pre-order menus in your room for breakfast, with the option to dine in your room if desired. Drinks can be ordered either in the room or you can enjoy at them the bar, and we will have a wider range of bar snacks available to negate there being no lunchtime menu. If you opt to dine in the restaurant, it will be in a well-spaced dining area or spaced-out outside area, which adheres to Government guidance.

The Spa Garden will operate on pre-booked sessions only to allow for thorough cleaning between each booking (see below for Spa Garden cleaning procedure) - you will find instructions about the Spa Garden in your in-room information pack. There will be no PIGSPA treatments available until it is safe to do so. Our honesty bars will be temporarily closed, but goodie bags (containing biscuits, marshmallows, testers and more) will be placed in rooms upon arrival. Small, covered milk jugs will be kept in the honesty bar fridges.

We have also installed sanitising stations at all entrances and exits throughout the building and there will be two metre markings throughout the corridors.


Your room bill will be posted under your door the morning of your departure, with instructions to call reception should you have any queries. Payment will be taken from the pre-authorised card we have on file. Please leave your key in the drop box in reception. Our team will then get working through the thorough cleaning routine (see below for cleaning routine) in the unoccupied room and you will receive an email requesting your feedback.

Please note…

▪️ The Pigs is now a cashless venue and all payment will be taken from your pre-authorised card. Gift cards are still accepted

▪️ Every half an hour our team will have a hand washing reminder

▪️ We are following strict social distancing guidelines

▪️ PPE (masks and gloves) will be worn by the team where necessary

▪️ We will only be serving pre-ordered breakfast and our dinner service will be very limited contact

    Fresh towels are replaced after every use of the Spa Garden, and all used towels are removed and washed on 60ºC wash.

    Every surface is wiped after each guest has used the space (toilet, sink, counter tops, door handles).

    The level of chlorine in the hot tub kills anything within the water and guests must shower before entering the tub.

    Guests must adhere to the allocated 45 minutes, to ensure staff have enough time to carry out the above measures after each use.


    Cleaning and hygiene is of the utmost importance to us as standard and in these current times we are being extra diligent in our cleaning routine of The Pigs, as outlined below.


    The housekeeping team will wash their hands with soap & water/hand sanitiser for 20 seconds prior to servicing each room.

    All unnecessary throws and cushions will be removed from rooms for the time being and windows will be open during the routine cleaning.

    Bins will be emptied before your stay and waste from each room will be placed in plastic bags, tied up and disposed of.

    Guest linen will be removed from properties in sealed bags and then linen is removed, laundered and beds re-made, the team will be wearing appropriate PPE (gloves and aprons).

    All in-room crockery and cutlery is washed in the restaurant dishwasher.

    Door and furniture handles, push plates, remote controls and fridge handles will be disinfected before your arrival.

    Tea, coffee, sugar and milk will be replenished before your stay.


    Bathroom supplies and toilet rolls will be replenished before your stay.

    Bins will be emptied before your stay and waste from each room will be placed in plastic bags, tied up and disposed of.

    Door handles, taps and flushes will be disinfected before your stay, as well as our usual deep clean of the bath/shower, toilet and sink.

    Reception, corridor, stairs and landing

    These areas will be dusted and swept once a day. Reception top, banisters and door handles will be disinfected daily.

    Toilets in communal areas

    Soaps and lotions, toilet rolls and paper towels will be replenished, where necessary, once a day.

    Bins will be emptied frequently.

    Door handles, push plates, taps, flushes and soap dispensers will be disinfected regularly and the floor will be mopped daily.

    All cleaning equipment will be disinfected at the end of every shift, and cloths will be washed at 60ºC.
